Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Many people still think that the movie covers everything, so I will be showing you that the book is not covered at all by the movie.

Here are some of the important characters of the book:

Harry Potter is a curious, if not a rule breaking student, who discovers many secrets at Hogwarts and the magical world. He suffers many family issues such as his parents death and having to live with his awful aunt and uncle.

Ron is the second youngest of his family and has to live up to his many brothers and succeed more than them, otherwise he will be just the failure of the family. His family is very poor and can’t afford new things, and proper equipment.

Hermione is a muggle born, meaning that they have non-magic parents but can use magic and is very nerdy/brainy. She knows every question the teachers ask and always wants to learn more.

Voldemort is a very evil wizard who killed Harrys parents and tried to kill harry, but failed and the spell backfired killing himself. Many wizards and witches believe that Voldemort is dead, but few don’t such as Hagrid.

This is a summary that you can use as a book report or review:

Harry lives on 4 privet drive with his aunt, uncle and cousin. Many letters addressed to Harry storm though every gap in the house and hotel. when Harrys uncle and aunt find their way through to a shack on a rock, way out to sea. At 12:00 on Harrys birthday a giant named Hagrid bursts out the door into the shack and tells harry he’s a wizard.

On the train to Hogwarts he find some friends named Ron and Hermione. While Harry is at school, he discovers a room with a guard dog protecting something. Hagrid reveals that the room is housing the philosophers stone. Harrys teacher, Snape is also discovered that he is trying to steal the stone for his benefits. Harry, Ron and Hermione go down the room and Harry finds not Snape but Quirrell trying to find the stone. Quirrell opens his turban and reveals that he is holding Voldemort’s spirit in his body. Harry then defeats Voldemort and destroys the stone.

The key elements in this book mainly show that: family can be a incompetent mess, and that friends can fill that hole with kindness and helpfulness. Family can also be a warm and loving group and sadness will be healed by family or friends.

That’s everything you need to know about Harry Potter and the philosophers stone. Your teacher will be stunned.
